Oklahoma Medical Care Advice and Advocacy Services

two people talking in an office in oklahomaWelcome. I’m Stacey Batista, MD, a patient advocate specializing in compassionate health advocacy and management for people with complex or unexpected medical diagnoses.

When a healthcare crisis strikes, a personal advocate to collaborate with and oversee the process can reduce stress, improve your overall experience and outcome, and put you on the path to better health.

Our healthcare system is complicated and impersonal. As such, it’s easy to feel reduced to a diagnosis, a disease, a body part, a problem.

I will work closely with you, your doctor(s) and your family as you navigate your way through the medical maze of an unexpected diagnosis, long-term illness, end of life care, or other challenging medical concerns.

Contact me today with any questions about my practice or to set up a complimentary consultation

“Stacey has been incredible at helping me to ask questions, gather information, and understand various medical situations in doctor visits and beyond. Her assistance in considering options and thinking through decisions has been immeasurable. She truly takes the time to know what I want, then help me advocate for it. Her professionalism and congeniality are boundless.”

L.S. Boston

My goal is for you to feel empowered, informed, and in control of your medical care and overall health.

I welcome new clients. Please contact me directly with any questions about my practice or your concerns, or to set up a consultation.

Reasons You Should Think About Health Advocacy

If yourself or a family member has ever been found to have an unanticipated medical condition, it can throw your life off course. Along with taking in such startling news, it will now be necessary to schedule doctor appointments, research treatment plans, and make vital decisions that will have an impact on your lifestyle together with that of your loved ones.

Let’s suppose you had someone at your side who’s able to sort out the information and paperwork overload on your behalf, as well as help you fully grasp the specifics of your insurance policy and find consultants? With a Oklahoma health advocate, this is all will be possible. Health care advocacy plans were formulated to alleviate some of the anxieties and stress that patients have to shoulder after news of a medical issue. A patient advocate will help you get back some sense of normalcy in your daily life and encourage you to make informed decisions.

Though health advocacy has been around for quite some time, this actual profession has only been officially recognized for the last ten years. Although there is no licensing requirements to become a health advocate, a lot of them have received accreditation in health advocacy and have a background in medicine.

What Type of Assistance Can a Patient Advocate Offer Me?

A Oklahoma medical patient advocate can do everything from telling you about your treatment procedures and condition in words that are easy to understand to working out how to minimize your doctors bills. This individual recognizes that each and every medical patient is unique with their special collection of needs and challenges relating to their illness. A patient advocate will take the required amount of time to get acquainted with each patient and the health hurdles that they’re facing.

Here are a few of the responsibilities that a Oklahoma patient advocate can undertake:

    • Find out if home care equipment is covered by medical insurance
    • Deal with insurance claims and try to bring down medical expenses
    • Explain your diagnosis in non-medical speak
    • Locate the right doctors and specialists
    • Give advice on when to request a second opinion
    • Schedule and locate end-of-life and hospice care
    • Request and coordinate the transfer of lab results, X-rays and medical records
    • Research rehabilitation facilities

Working alongside a medical advocacy service can reduce not only your stress, but also that of your family and loved ones. It helps you to save more time which you can devote to loved ones, as well as doing what you love instead of on the phone talking with medical insurance companies or exploring treatments.

Why Should I Work With a Oklahoma Healthcare Advocacy Service?

Working together with a Oklahoma patient advocate gives you access to a reliable professional person who understands all of the ins and outs of the convoluted healthcare system. But they are also able to bring calm to an extremely stressful scenario. They’ll be at hand to resolve your questions, go over your specific condition with your doctors, and help you to regain a feeling of control over your life.

What is Unique About Sirona Health Advocates?

I experienced first-hand the difficulties that patients and families have got to cope with when they are faced with a major health condition. As a daughter and mother, I cared for my elderly mom and dad in addition to bringing up my 2 kids. I am also a medical doctor, and so I can help clients to grasp complex medical terminology and treatments and I am available at all times to reply to their inquiries and discuss their worries.

I take a personable approach with each of my patients. We commence with a complimentary telephone consultation so that I am able to gather more information about your diagnosis and medical problems. Then we’ll discuss exactly what working alongside me is like, and just what you may expect to get from my professional services. After that, I’ll set up a customized personal plan which describes a set of action steps.

My background means I am well aware of the complicated healthcare landscape and in what ways medical insurance companies operate. It also enables me to interpret tricky medical lingo into language you understand, and I can advise treatment methods and specialists to explore. I am able to accompany you to doctors appointments, visit you when you’re in hospital and make sure that your health requirements are being fairly represented.

I got my certificate in Health Care Advocacy in 2018 from Healthcare Liaison, Inc.. I am also a graduate of Boston’s Tufts University School of Medicine, where I did my Medicine/Surgery internship. I’m a member of a few professional health advocacy associations including the Alliance of Professional Health Advocates, the Massachusetts Society of Serious Illness and the National Association of Healthcare Advocacy.

I bring humanization and empathy to your specific health-related circumstances. And you don’t have to live in the Oklahoma area to gain the benefit of my health advocate services. I have worked for affected people all over the country. Whether you need someone to help you contend with a child’s health issue, you need to come to important decisions with regard to an elderly dementia patient or you need a helping hand with your own health issues, you needn’t go through it all on your own.

If you happen to be planning to use a health care advocacy in or near Oklahoma, speak to me for an initial consultation. I am looking forward to speaking to you and helping you know precisely what options are available.

    About Oklahoma

Oklahoma is the 28th most populous and the 20th most extensive of the 50 states of the United States. It lies in the South Central region of the United States. Oklahoma became the 46th state in 1907, following several acts that incorporated more and more Indian tribal land into U.S. territory. Oklahoma is on a confluence of three major American cultural regions and historically served as a route for cattle drives, a destination for Southern settlers, and a government-sanctioned territory for Native Americans. The state attained statehood on November 16, 1907, becoming the 46th state to join the union. On July 25, 2000, Governor Keating announced plans to construct a dome on the Oklahoma State Capitol Building. Construction is slated to begin April 2001 with an estimated completion date of November 2002. One of the best things about living in Oklahoma is the taxes on people and companies. Not only are taxes low, but the state is planning to keep them this way for the years to come. Tourist attractions include the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, the Will Rogers Memorial in Claremore, the Cherokee Cultural Center with a restored Cherokee village. Oklahoma public schools spend $8,623 per student. The average school expenditure in the U.S. is $12,383. There are about 15.7 students per teacher in Oklahoma.
